RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BID RECEIVED FROM DOOR WORKS, INC., FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE BID # SB-23-050 PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A 40A: 11-4, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (hereafter “PCSO”) has requested the purchase and installation of one (1) rolling steel high performance door, which is needed for security purposes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., for every contract awarded by the County for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3, shall be awarded by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertising for bids and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Purchasing Agent issued SB-23-050 repair/replacement/new installation of overhead doors, door motos, and rolling gate motors for various county departments and institutions in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, by resolution R-23-0460, dated May 9, 2023, Door Works, Inc., was awarded the contract for SB-23-050 as the lowest responsive bidder, for the period from June 1, 2023 through May 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the terms of SB-23-050 the PCSO now seeks to purchase and install one (1) rolling steel high performance door through Door Works, Inc., in an amount not to exceed fifty-one thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($51,250.00); and
WHEREAS, funds are available account 3-01-25-157-001-207 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was reviewed by the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the full Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing the purchase and installation of one (1) rolling steel high performance door pursuant to the contract awarded under SB-23-050 to Door Works, Inc., in an amount not to exceed fifty-one thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($51,250.00); and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
