RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO EXERCISE THE OPTION TO EXTEND ITS CONTRACT WITH CORONIS HEALTH RCM, LLC, FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES-MEDICAL BILLING (RFP-23-012) AND N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.1 the County is authorized to utilize competitive contracting in lieu of public bidding for procurement of specialized goods and services, the price of which exceeds the bid threshold; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.3 the Board approved Resolution No. R-23-0147 on February 14, 2023, authorizing competitive contracting for medical billing for Emergency Medical Service (EMS); and
WHEREAS, thereafter the Purchasing Agent issued RFP-23-012 Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Medical Services Billing (hereafter “RFP-23-012”), responses which were opened on March 21, 2023; and
WHEREAS, RFP-23-012 included an initial one (1) year term from May 1, 2023 through April 30, 2024 with two (2) one year option years to renew; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution R-23-0377, dated April 11, 2023, the Board awarded the contract under RFP-23-012 to Coronis Health RCM, LLC, for the period from May 1, 2023 through April 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office now seeks to exercise the first one year option to extend the contract in accordance with RFP-23-012 for the period from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the fees shall remain 8% for all revenue collected as set forth in the proposal submitted by Coronis Health RCM, LLC; and
WHEREAS, this matter was reviewed by the Law and Public Safety Committee and is now being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office to exercise the first one-year option to extend the contract with Coronis Health RCM, LLC for Emergency Medical Services Medical Billing for the period from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the fees shall remain 8% for all revenue collected as set forth in the proposal submitted by Coronis Health RCM, LLC.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, the Clerk of the Board shall print, in the official newspaper, a brief notice stating the nature, duration, service, and amount of the contract to Coronis Health RCM, LLC, and maintain a copy of the resolution on file and available for public inspection in the Office of the Clerk to the Board.
LET IT BE FUTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, the Purchasing Agent, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
