RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF TEN (10) FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY (K8A) AWD VEHICLES BY THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (hereafter “PCSO”) has requested the purchase of ten (10) Ford Police Interceptor Utility (K8A) AWD vehicles from Neilson Ford of Morristown at a rate of forty-six thousand ten dollars and fifty-one cents ($46,010.51) per vehicle for a total purchase price of four hundred and sixty thousand one hundred and five dollars and six cents ($460,105.06) for use in furtherance of its objectives; and
WHEREAS, said goods and services are being procured through Cooperative Purchasing Agreements in which the County of Passaic is a member, as permitted by N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10 and as specified below; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed by the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, the Board is desirous of approving said purchases in accordance with the terms of the applicable contracts and authorizing the Purchasing Agent to issue the appropriate Purchase Orders; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in account T-22-56-850-012-803 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, et. seq. and the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic that it hereby authorizes the purchase of the following goods and/or services in accordance with the terms of the applicable cooperative agreement:

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Agent, Sheriff, Clerk to the Board, and County Counsel hereby are authorized and directed to take such further actions and sign such documents as are necessary to effectuate the purpose of this resolution, including but not limited to issuance of appropriate Purchase Orders.
