RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR THE DUNDEE ISLAND PARK BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE CITY OF PASSAIC, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for the Dundee Island Park Bridge Reconstruction Project have been prepared and conform with County and industry engineering standards, and the County Engineer is requesting that Purchasing Agent advertise and receive bids for same, in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer desires to undertake a project to reconstruct the Dundee Island Park Bridge over the Passaic River, that spans from the City of Passaic to the City of Garfield in Bergen County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the Dundee Island Park Bridge Reconstruction Project in the City of Passaic; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County shall publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 28, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for the Dundee Island Park Bridge Reconstruction Project in the City of Passaic.
