RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING TO HOLD A PUBLIC FORUM ON JUNE 6, 2024, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING AND RECEIVING COMMENTS ON THE 2025 AREA PLAN CONTRACT, PURSUANT TO 42 U.S.C.A. SEC. 3001, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County, through its Senior Services Department (hereafter “Department”), provides assistance with senior benefit programs, including home and community services to senior citizens throughout Passaic County and operates the Meals on Wheels Program, delivering meals to qualified homebound senior citizens throughout Passaic County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Area Agency on Aging and the Passaic County Senior Advisory Committee will hold a public forum for the purpose of soliciting and receiving comments on the 2025 Area Plan Contract; and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes services and programs that reflect the needs, issues and concerns of our Passaic County elderly residents; and
WHEREAS, the public is invited to attend and comment on a spending plan for services and implementation of programs that will meet the needs of Passaic County elderly residents; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-6, the notice for such public hearing must be published in at least two newspapers circulating in the County; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the April 16, 2024 meeting of the Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that pursuant to 42 U.S.C.A. Sec. 3001, et.seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorized to hold a public forum for the purpose of soliciting and receiving comments on the 2025 Area Plan Contract on June 6, 2024.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-6, the Clerk to the Board is hereby authorized to publish the necessary notices for the hearing to be conducted, on June 6, 2024 at 10:00AM., in accordance with the law.
