RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN APPROPRIATION AWARDED TO GOLF CART SPECIALTIES TO PURCHASE AN ADDITIONAL EIGHT (8) GOLF CARTS FOR PREAKNESS VALLEY GOLF COURSE, AS PER BID SB-23-063, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., for every contract awarded by the County for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3, shall be awarded by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertising for bids and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, on July 18, 2023, the Board passed Resolution No. R-23-0692 authorizing an award of contract to Golf Car Specialist LLC to purchase fifteen (15) 2023/2024 Yamaha Drive EFI or equivalent golf carts, and trade in fifteen (15) 2015 Yamaha Drive Fleet golf carts, in an amount not to exceed fifty-nine thousand six hundred twenty-five dollars ($59,625.00), after applying for trade-in credit, with a contract period beginning July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024; and; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation is recommending an increase appropriation to Golf Car Specialist, LLC, in the amount of ninety-one thousand four hundred twenty-five dollars ($91,425.00) for an additional eight (8) cars at the prices offered to the members of the cooperative under SB-23-063; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 8, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 4-01-44-900-003-000, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an increase in the appropriation under the contract to Golf Car Specialist, LLC, in the amount of ninety-one thousand four hundred twenty-five dollars ($91,425.00) for an additional eight (8) cars at the prices offered to the members of the cooperative under SB-23-063, for a new total award amount of one hundred fifty-one thousand fifty dollars ($151,050.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
