RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO WAYNE AUTO PARTS INC. D/B/A/ WAYNE AUTO SUPPLY TO PURCHASE AUTOMOTIVE PARTS TO REPAIR PASSAIC COUNTY PARA TRANSIT VEHICLES PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:11-12

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12, et seq. the County may without advertising for bids purchase goods or services under any contract or contracts for such goods or service entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of Treasury; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Auto Parts d/b/a Wayne Auto Supply submitted a competitive price under State Contract No. 85998 for NON-OEM Automotive Parts and Accessories for Light Duty Vehicles to the State of New Jersey, Department of the Treasury, Division of Purchase and Property; and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Roads received a quote from Wayne Auto Parts d/b/a Wayne Auto Supply for the purchase of automotive parts to repair Passaic County Road Department and Passaic County Para Transit trucks, vehicles, and vans in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) for calendar year 2024; and
WHEREAS funds are available in Account No. 4-01-26-151-001-249 ($15,000.00 from the Roads Department Account), 4-01-26-151-001-222 ($15,000.00 from the Roads Department Account), G-01-41-803-024-249 ($10,000.00 from Para Transit Account), or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed on May 8, 2024, by the Public Works Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorize an award of contract to Wayne Auto Parts d/b/a Wayne Auto Supply to purchase automotive parts to repair Passaic County Road Department and Passaic County Para Transit trucks, vehicles and vans in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) for calendar year 2024.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
