RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN APPROPRIATION AWARD TO INTEGRATED POWER SERVICES, LLC T/A PRECISION ELECTRIC MOTOR WORKS, INC., TO PAY FOR FUTURE SERVICES AND SUPPLIES FOR THE COUNTY, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., for every contract awarded by the County for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3, shall be awarded by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertising for bids and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, on September 26, 2023, the Board passed Resolution No. R-23-0894 authorizing an award of contract to Integrated Power Services, LLC t/a Precision Electric Motor Works, Inc., to supply and install various pumps and motors for the County under Contract #B369-14 through the North Jersey Wastewater Cooperative Pricing System, in an amount not to exceed one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00) for a contract period beginning August 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds is recommending an increase in appropriation to Integrated Power Services, LLC t/a Precision Electric Motor Works, Inc., in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) to pay for any future services or supplies for the duration of Contract period which ends July 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 8, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account Nos., 4-01-20-112-001-219, 4-01-20-112-004-207, or any account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an increase in the appropriation under the contract to Integrated Power Services, LLC., t/a Precision Electric Motor Works, Inc., in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) to pay for any future services or supplies for the duration of Contract period which ends July 31, 2024, for a new total award amount of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
