RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING STEPHEN ORSINI AS SUPERINTENDENT OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS FOR THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:9-32

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-32, the Board, by resolution, may provide for the appointment of a county superintendent of buildings and grounds and shall fix the compensation and prescribe the powers, duties and functions of said county superintendent; and
WHEREAS, the term of office of the county superintendent of buildings and grounds shall be five (5) years from the date of his appointment and until his successor is chosen and qualified; and
WHEREAS, the superintendent of buildings and grounds shall be required to furnish a bond in such amount as the Board shall fix and approve as to form; and
WHEREAS, on May 28, 2019, the Board passed Resolution No. R20190469, appointing Stephen Orsini as the County’s Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for a five (5) year term, commencing June 1, 2019 and expiring May 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Administrator is recommending to reappoint Stephen Orsini as the County’s Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for a five (5) year term, beginning June 1, 2024 and terminating May 31, 2029; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 8, 2024 Administration & Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-32, the Board of County Commissioners of County Commissioners hereby reappoints Stephen Orsini as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for the County of Passaic for a five (5) year term, commencing June 1, 2024 and expiring May 31, 2029.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, and Director of the Board shall take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
