RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PREAKNESS HEALTHCARE CENTER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH BANYAN SCHOOL TO PROVIDE STRUCTURED LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR UNPAID INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, ET.SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 et.seq., and vested with the rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, et.seq., the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) are vested with the decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, Preakness Healthcare Center (hereafter “Preakness”) is a New Jersey Department of Health licensed, 406 bed skilled nursing facility that is owned and operated by the Board; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Preakness is requesting a resolution to enter into an agreement with Banyan School to provide structured learning experiences for unpaid internship opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the matter was discussed at the May 7, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services and is being recommended to the Board for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, et.seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes Preakness Healthcare Center to enter into an agreement with Banyan School to provide structured learning experiences for unpaid internship opportunities; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Director of Human Services, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
