RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY ENGINEER TO ACCEPT THE FY 2024 COUNTY AID GRANT FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on October 10, 2023, the Board passed Resolution No. R-23-0951, authorizing the Passaic County Engineer to apply for the FY 2024 County Aid Grant Program from the New Jersey Department of Transportation (hereafter “NJDOT”) Annual Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, NJDOT has informed the County that it is eligible to accept grant funding under the FY 2024 County Aid Grant Program in the amount of seven million four hundred eighty-five thousand six hundred fifty-nine dollars ($7,485,659.00); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed via email on May 15, 2024 by the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the County Engineer to accept the FY 2024 County Aid Grant from the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation in the amount of seven million four hundred eighty-five thousand six hundred fifty-nine dollars ($7,485,659.00) and execute the grant agreement associated therewith.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, Chief Financial Officer, County Administrator, County Counsel, County Engineer, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
