RESOLUTION TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE OVERDOSE FATALITY REVIEW TEAMS GRANT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from sixteen (16) municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Department of Health Services requests a resolution to apply for and accept the Overdose Fatality Review Teams Grant in the amount of seventy five thousand and 00/100 ($75,000.00) dollars for the grant period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 4, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) authorizes the application and acceptance of the Overdose Fatality Review Teams Grant in the amount of seventy-five thousand and 0/100 ($75,000.00) dollars for the grant period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director to the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Department of Health are hereby authorized to take the necessary actions to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
