RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT OF GRANT FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, OFFICE OF LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH, COUNTY HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING 2024 GRANT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department had requested a Resolution to apply for and accept funding for the County Health Infrastructure Funding 2024 (hereafter “CHIF”) Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Project Category Funding Period for the CHIF Grant from July 1, 2023 to June 30/2026 (Total $2,292,274.00) is as follows:
Budget Period Year 1: 07/01/2023 - 06/30/2024: Funding Amount $1,146,138.00.
Budget Period Year 2: 07/02/2024 - 06/30/2025: Funding Amount $ 573,068.00.
Budget Period Year 3: 07/01/2025 - 06/30/2026: Funding Amount $ 573,068.00; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department is now requesting a resolution authorizing an amendment to the County Health Infrastructure Program 2024 to add additional funds and extend the budget period to December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the project period date will remain the same; and
WHEREAS, the current funding amount is $1,146,138.00; and the additional funding amount is $1,153,391.00, which will equal a total funding of $2,299,529.00; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 4, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 et.seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Department of Health Services an amendment to the County Health Infrastructure Program 2024 Grant as set forth above.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of Health Services are authorized to take the necessary actions to accept the grant application authorized on behalf of the County of Passaic.
