RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION INTERSTATE ROUTE 80, RIVERVIEW DRIVE (CR 640) TO POLIFLY ROAD (CR 55) IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (hereafter “NJDOT”) is in the preliminary engineering design phase of a major project to construct numerous improvements along Interstate Route 80 in the Borough of Totowa, the Borough of Woodland Park, the City of Paterson, and continuing through Bergen County; and
WHEREAS, a meeting was held on October 18, 2023 between NJDOT and representatives of the County, concerning the Interstate Route 80, Riverview Drive (CR 640) to Polifly Road (CR 55) Project; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the County were in agreement with the Interstate Route 80, Riverview Drive (CR640) to Polifly Road (CR 55) Project improvements as shown on the Interstate Route 80, Riverview Drive (CR 640) to Polifly Road (CR 55) Project plans as presented at the meeting held on October 18, 2023; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 12, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic that it hereby announces its support for the Interstate Route 80, Riverview Drive (CR 640) to Polifly Road (CR 55) Project along Interstate Route 80 in the Borough of Totowa, the Borough of Woodland Park, the City of Paterson, and continuing through Bergen County.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes and directs the Clerk to the Board to forward a letter to the NJDOT indicating support for the proposed improvements to the Interstate Route 80, Riverview Drive (CR640) to Polifly Road (CR 55) Project
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board is further directed to forward such a letter to be attached to this Resolution expressing its support for this project.
