RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FY 2024 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT.

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) received a grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (hereafter “USHUD”) for the Community Development Block Grant Program (hereafter “CDBG”), which requires the submission of an Annual Action Plan (hereafter “Plan”); and
WHEREAS, the Board seeks to submit the Passaic County, NJ, FY 2024 Annual Action Plan to USHUD in compliance with the rules and regulations governing the CDBG Program, and USHUD estimates Passaic County will receive the following amount for FY 2024: Nine Hundred Eighty-Nine Thousand One Hundred and Fifty-Nine and 00/100 ($989,159.00) Dollars; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 11, 2024, on a virtual platform and in-person at 12:00 P.M. to solicit comments on the FY 2024 Annual Action Plan (note attached FY 2024 Annual Action Plan) from the public and no comments were received; and
WHEREAS, the Board is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed in the undertaking and implementation of this federal assistance program; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 12, 2024, meeting of the Planning and Economic Development Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic that the Passaic County, NJ, FY 2024 Annual Action Plan is hereby approved for submission to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Commissioner Director is hereby authorized to submit the FY 2024 grant application for financial assistance in the amount of Nine Hundred Eighty-Nine Thousand One Hundred and Fifty-Nine and 00/100 ($989,159.00) Dollars to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and to act as the authorized representative of the County of Passaic to execute all documents and certifications; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board is hereby directed to file said plans with the minutes of this meeting.
