RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR THE RENOVATIONS TO THE PASSAIC COUNTY JOHNER BUILDING AT 11 EDGAR DRIVE IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST MILFORD, FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY ENGINEER, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, on December 28, 2023, the Board passed Resolution No. R-23-1215, authorizing a lease agreement between the County and the Township of West Milford whereby the County agreed to Lease the building located at 11 Edgar Drive (hereafter “Johner Building”) from the Township of West Milford for use as a satellite office for the Department of Health Services; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer has determined that the newly-leased Johner Building is in need of renovations; and
WHEREAS, Comerro Coppa Architects, P.C., has prepared plans and specifications which conform to Passaic County and other engineering standards; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the Renovations of the Passaic County Johner Building at 11 Edgar Drive in the Township of West Milford; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County shall publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 3, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for the Passaic County Johner Building at 11 Edgar Drive in the Township of West Milford.
