RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING KENNETH A. SIMPSON AS THE PASSAIC COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ROADS FOR A FIVE (5) YEAR TERM, COMMENCING SEPTEMBER 15, 2024 AND EXPIRING SEPTEMBER 14, 2029, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:9-44

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-44, the Board, by resolution, may provide for the appointment of a county road supervisor and fix his compensation. Unless otherwise provided by law, his term of office shall be five (5) years; and
WHEREAS, on July 22, 2014, the Board approved Resolution R-2014-0533, appointing Kenneth A. Simpson as the Passaic County Supervisor of Roads for a five (5) year term, which expired on September 14, 2019; and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 2019, the Board passed Resolution No. R20190778, reappointing Mr. Simpson as Supervisor of Roads for a five (5) year term, effective September 15, 2019 and terminating on September 14, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Administrator is recommending to reappoint Mr. Simpson as the County’s Supervisor of Roads for a five (5) year term, commencing September 15, 2024 and expiring September 14, 2029; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 31, 2024 Administration and Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-44, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic reappoints Kenneth A. Simpson as the Passaic County Supervisor of Roads for a five (5) year term, commencing September 15, 2024 and expiring September 14, 2029.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
