RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN APPROPRIATION AWARD TO DOOR WORKS INC., TO PROVIDE A NEW OVERHEAD DOOR FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MOTORPOOL DIVISION AT 61 COLOMBIA AVENUE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., for every contract awarded by the County for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3, shall be awarded by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertising for bids and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, on May 9, 2023, the Board passed Resolution No. R-23-0460 authorizing an award of contract to Door Works Inc., for the repair, replacement, and new installation of overhead doors, door motors, and rolling gate motors for various County Departments for a two-year term beginning on June 1, 2023, through May 31, 2025, in an amount of forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) per year for a two (2) year period for a total amount of ($80,000.00), in accordance with its response to SB-23-050; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (“PCSO”) is recommending an increase in appropriation to Door Works Inc., under SB-23-050, in the amount of thirteen thousand dollars ($13,000.00) to pay for a new overhead door needed for the PCSO Motorpool Division at 61 Colombia Avenue; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account Nos.: C-04-55-166-001-902 ($7,292.98), C-04-55-166-001-920 ($5,707.02), or any account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in 2024 or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an increase in the appropriation under contract SB-23-050 to Door Works Inc., in the amount of thirteen thousand dollars ($13,000.00) to pay for a new overhead door needed for the PCSO Motorpool Division at 61 Colombia Avenue, for a new total award amount of ninety-three thousand dollars ($93,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
