RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR THE DECK REPLACEMENT AND VARIOUS BRIDGE REPAIRS OF THE GREENWOOD LAKE TURNPIKE BRIDGE NO. 1600-513 OVER THE MONKSVILLE RESERVOIR IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST MILFORD, FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY ENGINEER, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer has determined that the Greenwood Lake Turnpike Bridge No. 1600-513 over the Monksville Reservoir in the Township of West Milford requires a deck replacement and various other bridge repairs; and
WHEREAS, Grand Engineering and Construction Group has prepared plans and specifications which conform to Passaic County and other engineering standards; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the Replacement of Deck Replacement and Various Bridge Repairs of the Greenwood Lake Turnpike Bridge No. 1600-513 over the Monksville Reservoir in the Township of West Milford; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County shall publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the majority of the construction is being funded by a NJDOT Local Bridge Fund grant; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 31, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for the Replacement of Deck Replacement and Various Bridge Repairs of the Greenwood Lake Turnpike Bridge No. 1600-513 over the Monksville Reservoir in the Township of West Milford.
