RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR PREAKNESS HEALTHCARE CENTER - HVAC REPAIRS TO UNITS 1, 2, & 4, HVAC REPLACEMENT AT UNIT 3, AND NEW BMS FOR UNITS 1 THROUGH 4, IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAYNE, FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY ENGINEER, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer has determined that multiple HVAC Systems at Preakness Healthcare Center are in need of repairs and replacement; and
WHEREAS, specifically, Units 1, 2, and 4 are in need of HVAC repairs, Unit 3 is in need of HVAC replacement, and new BMS units are necessary for Units 1 through 4; and
WHEREAS, T&M Associates have prepared plans and specifications which conform to Passaic County and other engineering standards; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for Preakness Healthcare Center - HVAC Repairs to Units 1, 2, and 4, Replacement at Unit 3, and new BMS for Units 1 through 4; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County shall publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed via email on August 28, 2024 by the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for Preakness Healthcare Center - HVAC Repairs to Units 1, 2, and 4, Replacement at Unit 3, and new BMS for Units 1 through 4 in the Township of Wayne.
