RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INCREASE IN APPROPRIATION TO VARIOUS VENDORS WHO WERE PREVIOUSLY AWARDED CONTRACTS FOR RFQ-24-021 AGENCY CLINICAL STAFF FOR PREAKNESS HEALTHCARE CENTER.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, Preakness Healthcare Center (hereafter “Preakness”) is a New Jersey Department of Health licensed , 406-bed skilled nursing facility that is owned and operated by the Board, and needs healthcare staffing agency services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to R-23-1059, dated November 21, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners qualified and awarded contracts under RFQ-24-021 Preakness Agency Clinical Staffing to Nursing Network LLC; Human Edge; Infojini Inc; Greenstaff Medical Staffing LLC.; Shiftster LLC, d/b/a ESHYFT; Compu-Vision Consulting Inc.; Wise Medical Staffing Inc.; Ardor Health Solutions; Priority Group Services LLC; Maxim Healthcare Staffing Holdings d/b/a Amergis Healthcare Staffing Inc.; Health Advocates Network, Inc.; and Supplemental Health Care in the amount not to exceed three million five hundred thousand and 00/100 ($3,500,000.00 dollars to provide agency clinical staff to Preakness for the period January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director of PHC is requesting a resolution to increase the appropriation by two million and 00/100 ($2,000,000.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 4-01-27-172-001-213, or any account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 3, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the increase in appropriation by two million and 00/100 ($2,000,000.00) dollars; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
