RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFAIRS TO APPLY FOR THE 2024-2025 INCUBATION AND ACTION GRANTS FROM THE NEW JERSEY COUNCIL FOR THE HUMANITIES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Council for the Humanities is accepting grant applications for its Incubation Grants and Action Grants for the 2024-2025 term, the goal of such grants being to support the planning, development, and implementation of public humanities projects for the benefit of citizens of New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs is recommending that the County apply for the Incubation and Action Grants for 2024-2025, in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 11, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes a grant application to the Incubation and Action Grants for 2024-2025 from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
