RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFAIRS TO APPLY FOR ACTIVATION, REVITALIZATION, AND TRANSFORMATION GRANT PHASE 2 FY24 FROM THE NEW JERSEY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority operates the Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation Grants Program Phase 2 FY24, which supports non-profits with the creation of public space activation initiatives such as placemaking projects, public art installations, and arts-based projects; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs (hereafter “Department”) is recommending that the County apply for the Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation Phase 2 FY24 grant from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority in the maximum amount of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 11, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes a grant application to the Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation Phase 2 FY24 grant from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority in the maximum amount of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
