RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PASSAIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES VACCINE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN WANAQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE WANAQUE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department is requesting a resolution for a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Health Services Vaccine Emergency Management Plan Wanaque Police Department and the Wanaque Office of Emergency Management; and
WHEREAS, in the event of a power outage, the power of the vaccine refrigerator and freezer should automatically transfer to the generator used by the Police Department, Office of Emergency Management and the Department of Information Technology; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the October 1, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Department of Health Services to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between the County Department of Health Services Vaccine Emergency Management Plan Wanaque Police Department and Wanaque Office of Emergency Management; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director/Health Officer is authorized to execute the within Memorandum of Understanding.
