RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN APPROPRIATION TO ANGEL SENSE, INC., TO PROVIDE INDIVIDUAL GPS TRACKING DEVICE FOR AUTISTIC ELDERLY OR MEDICAL NEED CITIZENS FOR THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2023, the Board passed Resolution R-23-0523, authorizing an award of contract to Angel Sense Inc., to provide Individual GPS Tracking Device for Autistic Elderly or Medical Need Citizens for the County in an amount not to exceed forty-three thousand dollars ($43,000.00) for the period of June 1, 2023, through May 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office is recommending an increase in appropriation to Angel Sense, Inc., in the amount of thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000.00), to pay monthly invoices for the remainder of the contract, for a total contract award amount of seventy-eight thousand dollars ($78,000.00); and
WHEREAS, fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00), out of the thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000.00) amount will be used in the year 2024; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed on October 15, 2024, at the Law and Public Safety Committee Meeting and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in account 4-01-22-130-002-213, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in 2024 or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to pursuant N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq, that the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic authorizes the increase in appropriation to the contract awarded under Resolution R-23-0523 to Angel Sense Inc., in the amount of thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000.00), to pay monthly invoices for the remainder of the contract, for a total contract award amount of seventy-eight thousand dollars ($78,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Agent, Sheriff, Clerk to the Board, and County Counsel hereby are authorized and directed to take such further actions and sign such documents as are necessary to effectuate the purpose of this resolution, including but not limited to the issuance of appropriate Purchase Order(s).
