RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH HYACINTH AIDS FOUNDATION, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) requests a Resolution for a Memorandum of Understanding between the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation (hereafter “Hyacinth”) and the Department; and
WHEREAS, both agencies share a strong commitment to addressing the multiple service needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families in order to facilitate 100% access to care and treatment; and
WHEREAS, in order to address these needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner, minimizing duplication of effort, Hyacinth and the Department pledge to coordinate service provision and make and accept referrals that best meet the needs of the client and facilitate attendance to health needs; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the November 12, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the Passaic County Department of Health Services to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Hyacinth AIDS Foundation (copy attached) to address multiple service needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, and the Director/Health Officer are authorized to execute the within Memorandum of Understanding.
