RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INCREASE IN AN AWARD UNDER A SHARED SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF PASSAIC, POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THEIR REGIONAL STATION HOUSE ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM TO RUN ONE MORE SESSION FOR 2024, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department is requesting a resolution to increase an award under a Shared Service Agreement with the City of Passaic, Police Department for their Regional Station House Adjustment Program to run one more session for 2024; and
WHEREAS, the original award was authorized pursuant to R-24-169, dated February 27, 2024, in the amount of twenty three thousand four hundred sixty-seven and 00/100 ($23,467.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the additional allocation is twenty six thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($26,500.00) dollars;
WHEREAS, the new contract ceiling is forty nine thousand nine hundred sixty-seven thousand and 00/100 ($49,967.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed for the November 12, 2024 meeting of Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval;
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. G-01-41-810-024-213 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached hereto and made a part of this resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-60-1, et seq., vendor executed the Non-Involvement in Prohibited Activities in Russia or Belarus Certification, attached hereto and made part of this Resolution, certifying the vendor is not involved in prohibited activities in Russia and Belarus, and the County confirmed vendor is not identified on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list created by the Office of Foreign Assets Control; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes an increase in award under a Shared Service Agreement with the City of Passaic, Police Department for their Regional Station House Adjustment Program to run one more session for 2024.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
