RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE AWARD AMOUNT OF $15,000 TO SUPERIOR COURT OF NEW JERSEY, PASSAIC VICINAGE BY $5,000, TO A NEW CONTRACT CEILING OF $20,000 TO PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS OF THEIR PROGRAM WITH HOLIDAY FOOD BASKETS DURING THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department is requesting a resolution authorizing an increase in the award amount of $15,000 to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic Vicinage by $5,000, to a new contract ceiling of $20,000 to provide participants of their program with holiday food baskets during Thanksgiving and Christmas; and
WHEREAS, the original award was authorized by R24-168 dated February 27, 2024, and amended by R24-250 on March 26, 2024; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. G-01-41-823-024-213, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent County budget(s); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:32-60-1, et seq., vendors executed the Non-Involvement in Prohibited Activities in Russia or Belarus Certification, attached hereto and made parr of this resolution, certifying the vendors are nor involved in prohibited activities in Russia and Belarus, and the County confirmed vendors are not identified on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list created by the Office of Foreign Assets Control; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the November 12, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes an increase in the award amount of $15,000 to Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic Vicinage by $5,000, to a new contract ceiling of $20,000 to provide participants of their program with holiday food baskets during Thanksgiving and Christmas; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
