RESOLUTION TO REDUCE CONTRACT CEILING OF $26,250.00, BY $17,500.00 TO $8,750.00 DUE TO DECREASED LEVEL OF SERVICES TO COUNTY GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PASSAIC COUNTY HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND PATERSON PUBLIC SCHOOL FOR THEIR YOUTH UPLIFT PROGRAM PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department is requesting a resolution to reduce contract ceiling of twenty six thousand two hundred fifty and 00/100 ($26,250.00) dollars by seventeen thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($17,500.00) dollars to eight thousand seven hundred fifty and 00/100 ($8,750.00) dollars due to decreased level of services to County Grant Agreements between the Passaic County Human Services Department and Paterson Public School for their Youth Uplift Program; and
WHEREAS, this Program was first awarded a total of fifty two thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($52,500.00) dollars pursuant to R24-116, dated February 27, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the program was subsequently reduced to twenty six thousand two hundred fifty and 00/100 ($26,250.00) dollars due to low level of service under R24-686, dated August 13, 2024; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed for the November 12, 2024, meeting of Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes a reduction in contract ceiling of twenty six thousand two hundred fifty and 00/100 ($26,250.00) dollars by seventeen thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($17,500.00) dollars to eight thousand seven hundred fifty and 00/100 ($8,750.00) dollars due to decreased level of services to County Grant Agreement between the Passaic County Human Services Department and Paterson Public School for their Youth Uplift Program; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
