RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT AND/OR REAPPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE PASSAIC COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRUSTEE SEARCH COMMITTEE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 18A:64A-8

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:64A-1, et seq., the Board established the Passaic County Community College (“PCCC”); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:64A-8, the Board established a Trustee Search Committee of not less than five members, which is responsible for nominating individuals for consideration by the Board for appointment to the PCCC Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:64A-8, members of the Trustee Search Committee must be residents of the County, shall not be elected public officials, and shall not be eligible for appointment to the PCCC Board of Trustees for a period of six months after their service on the Trustee Search Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to appoint and/or reappoint the following nine (9) individuals to the Trustee Search Committee: Stacey Coleman; Arleen Barcenas; Kathleen Donnelly; Kenneth Simpson; Oshin Castillo; Rev. Alfred Steele; Albert Buglione, Esq.; John Pogorelec, Esq.; and Samantha Bruining,; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed by the Administration and Finance Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:64A-8, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic appoints the following nine (9) individuals to the Trustee Search Committee:
• Stacey Coleman
• Arleen Barcenas
• Kathleen Donnelly
• Kenneth Simpson
• Oshin Castillo
• Rev. Alfred Steele
• Albert Buglione, Esq.
• John Pogorelec, Esq.
• Samantha Bruining; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above-described appointments shall be effective immediately, and the appointed individuals shall serve on the Trustee Search Committee at the pleasure of the Board.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board shall send a certified copy of this Resolution to the President and General Counsel of the Passaic County Community College and shall keep a copy of same on file for public inspection.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purposes of this Resolution.
