RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION R-24-266 TO INCREASE THE IN-KIND COUNTY MATCH FROM $18,263 TO $29,196 FOR A TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $83,984 FOR THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMAN ACT (VAWA) GRANT NUMBER 46-23

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on March 26, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic adopted R-24-266 authorizing the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept the FFY23 STOP Violence Against Woman Act Grant Program (“VAWA Grant") for an award amount up to fifty-four thousand seven hundred eighty-eight dollars ($54,788.00) to support the County Office of Victim Witness Advocacy Victim Services Project from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Resolution R-24-266 provided further that the VAWA Grant required an in-kind salary/fringe match in the amount of eighteen thousand two hundred sixty-three dollars ($18,263.00); and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2024, the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety informed the County via letter that as a condition of the grant, the County agrees to provide twenty-nine thousand one hundred ninety-six dollars ($29,196.00) as a match, bringing the total project amount to eighty-three thousand nine hundred eighty-four dollars (83,984.00); and
WHEREAS, Resolution R-24-266 needs to be amended to reflect that the in-kind match increased from eighteen thousand two hundred sixty-three dollars ($18,263.00) to twenty-nine thousand one hundred ninety-six dollars ($29,196.00), pursuant to the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety Letter, dated November 21, 2024, which is incorporated by referenced and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed by the Law and Public Safety Committee on December 3, 2024, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, et. seq. and the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic that it hereby authorizes an amendment to R-24-266 to reflect that the in-kind match increased from eighteen thousand two hundred sixty-three dollars ($18,263.00) to twenty-nine thousand one hundred ninety -six dollars ($29,196.00), pursuant to the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety Letter, dated November 21, 2024, which is incorporated by referenced and made part of this Resolution.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that all the other terms and conditions as set forth in Resolution R-24-266 remain in full force and effect.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Board of County Commissioners, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to take any other action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
