RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REPLACEMENT OF THE RIVERVIEW DRIVE BRIDGE PROJECT IN THE BOROUGH OF TOTOWA, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (hereafter “NJDOT”) is in the concept design phase for the Replacement of the Riverview Drive Bridge over the Totowa Spur in the Borough of Totowa (hereafter “Project”); and
WHEREAS, after completion of the Project, which will be funded by NJDOT, NJDOT will transfer ownership of Riverview Drive Bridge to the County; and
WHEREAS, because Riverview Drive Bridge will become a County-owned bridge once the Project is completed, a representative of the County shall coordinate with NJDOT during all phases of the design and construction; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the November 26, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic that it hereby announces its support for the Replacement of the Riverview Drive Bridge over the Totowa Spur in the Borough of Totowa.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes and directs the Clerk to the Board to forward a letter to the NJDOT indicating support for the Replacement of the Riverview Drive Bridge over the Totowa Spur in the Borough of Totowa.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board is further directed to forward such a letter to be attached to this Resolution expressing its support for this project.
