RESOLUTION TO APPLY FOR AND OBTAIN THE NEW JERSEY SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITUION ASSISTANT PROGRAM 2025 GRANT DOAS25SNAP11 FROM THE NJ DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, DIVISION OF AGING SERVICES.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Senior Services, Division of Aging Services is requesting a resolution to apply for and obtain the NJSNAP (New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) 2025 Grant DOAS25SNAP11 in the amount of two hundred eighty-seven thousand six hundred ninety four and 00/100 ($287,694.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, this award provided through the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services would provide Senior Citizens (60+) and individuals with disabilities (18+) additional monthly benefits as well as helping and completing NJSAVE and NJ Family Care applications throughout Passaic County; and
WHEREAS, it is an eighteen (18) month grant period from January 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, no dollar match is required; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the December 17, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NEW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Department of Senior Services, Division of Aging Services to apply for and obtain the NJSNAP (New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) 2025 Grant DOAS25SNAP11 in the amount of two hundred eighty-seven thousand six hundred ninety four and 00/100 ($287,694.00) dollars; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board and Clerk to the Board and the Executive Director of the Department of Senior Services are hereby authorized to execute any documents to carry out the terms of this Resolution.
