RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER TO CANCEL OUTSTANDING CHECKS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, there are bank reconciliations that contain outstanding checks issued by the County of Passaic prior to June 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the accounts and values of the outstanding checks are as follows:
Account #8984 - Clearing A/C - $55,792.49
Account #0326 - Payroll Agency - $149.90
Account #9085 - Net Payroll - $27.14
Account #0000 - Bergen Risk - $34,688.94
WHEREAS, it is beneficial to the County to cancel the aforementioned stale dated checks, which have not been cashed; and
WHEREAS, a listing of these checks will be retained by the County Treasurer, and in the event that a future claim is received, the County will refund such funds from its current year Operating Account.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Chief Financial Officer to cancel the following stale dated checks, which were issued prior to June 30, 2024 and have not been cashed:
Account #8984 - Clearing A/C - $55,792.49
Account #0326 - Payroll Agency - $149.90
Account #9085 - Net Payroll - $27.14
Account #0000 - Bergen Risk - $34,688.94
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief Financial Officer is hereby authorized to credit the above-referenced amounts to miscellaneous revenue in Current Fund.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
