RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE COUNTY REENTRY COORDINATORS (CRC) PROGRAM, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHERAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (hereinafter “PCSO”), on behalf of the Corrections Division, seeks permission to accept a grant from the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections (NJDOC) in the maximum amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) under the County Reentry Coordinators (CRC) Program; and
WHEREAS, the PCSO Corrections Division will use these funds to evaluate and assist incarcerated persons with connecting to appropriate post-release treatment and wraparound reentry services; and
WHEREAS, this matter has been reviewed on March 20, 2025 by the Law and Public Safety and is being recommended to the Board of for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office to accept funds in the maximum amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) under the County Reentry Coordinators (CRC) Program.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes set forth in its application for the receipt of said grant funds and as set forth in this resolution.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Sheriff, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
