RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO MURRAY PAVING & CONCRETE, LLC, TO PERFORM RENOVATIONS AT PASSAIC COUNTY COURTHOUSE IN THE CITY OF PATERSON, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey, which awarded a contract for Job Order Contracting - General Repair & Maintenance - All Regions, Contract #ESCNJ 23/24-28 to Murray Paving & Concrete, LLC, to provide general repair and maintenance services to members of the cooperative; and
WHEREAS, Murray Paving & Concrete, LLC, provided a quote to perform ADA-compliant renovations to Room 118 of the Passaic County Courthouse at 77 Hamilton Street in the City of Paterson to the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, in an amount not to exceed seventy thousand one hundred forty-four dollars and forty cents ($70,144.40) attached to and made part of this resolution, which is being recommended for approval by the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 5-01-44-900-003-000, C-04-55-182-002-903 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 2, 2025, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an award of contract to Murray Paving & Concrete, LLC, to perform ADA-compliant renovations to Room 118 of the Passaic County Courthouse at 77 Hamilton Street in the City of Paterson, in an amount not to exceed seventy thousand one hundred forty-four dollars and forty cents ($70,144.40), as recommended by the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board of County Commissioners, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
