RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFAIRS TO ACCEPT THE GENERAL OPERATING SUPPORT GRANT PROGRAM FY26 FROM THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, DEPARTMENT OF STATE, NEW JERSEY HISTORICAL COMMISSION, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of State, New Jersey Historical Commission is offering the General Operating Support Grant FY26, which supports programs that are engaged in preserving, researching, and interpreting New Jersey history, and has informed the County that it is eligible to receive said grant in the amount of forty-one thousand four hundred dollars ($41,400.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs (hereafter “Department”) is recommending that the County accept the General Operating Support Grant FY26, to assist in the funding the operation of the Department, in the amount of forty-one thousand four hundred dollars ($41,400.00); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 30, 2025, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the acceptance of the General Operating Support Grant FY26 from the State of New Jersey, Department of State, New Jersey Historical Commission , in the amount of forty-one thousand four hundred dollars ($41,400.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
