RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-25-556 AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE 2025 NEW JERSEY CLEAN COMMUNITIES’ ENTITLEMENT, TO CORRECT THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS TO BE APPLIED FOR AND ACCEPTED

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Department of Health, Division of Solid Waste & Recycling (“Division”), coordinates all solid waste and recycling planning functions on behalf of the County and its municipalities; and
WHEREAS, established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213 et seq., the New Jersey Clean Communities Program is a statewide litter abatement program that provides funds to municipalities, assisting in implementing litter abatement programs; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Clean Communities program has informed the Division that it is eligible to apply for and accept 2025 New Jersey Clean Communities Entitlement funds; and
WHEREAS, there is no dollar match to accept this grant; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 10, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee was recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, the Board adopted Resolution No. R-25-556 on June 17, 2025, authorizing the Division to apply for and accept the above-described 2025 New Jersey Clean Communities Entitlement funds; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. R-25-556 erroneously stated the amount of the 2025 New Jersey Clean Communities Entitlement funds to be accepted, which shall be amended to reflect the correct amount of one hundred nine thousand four hundred ninety-five dollars and forty cents ($109,495.40).
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) hereby amends Resolution No. R-25-556 only to modify the amount of 2025 New Jersey Clean Communities Entitlement funds to be applied for and accepted by the Department of Health Services, Division of Solid Waste & Recycling, to reflect the correct amount of one hundred nine thousand four hundred ninety-five dollars and forty cents ($109,495.40).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other terms and conditions set forth in Resolution No. R-25-556, to the extent not inconsistent with this Resolution, are hereby ratified and shall remain in full force and effect.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Department of Health are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
