RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR ON-CALL BRIDGE AND CULVERT REPAIRS FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2026 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2027, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineering Department seeks to qualify a pool of contractors specializing in bridge and culvert repairs to be hired on an as-needed basis during the period beginning January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027 at established bid unit prices; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for on call bridge and culvert repairs in the County for the period beginning January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County will publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the October 1, 2025 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for the advertisement for on call bridge and culvert repairs in the County for the period beginning January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027.
