RESOLUTION AMENDING PRIOR RESOLUTION R-25-95, DATED FEBRUARY 11, 2025, TO PROVIDE ADULT LITERACY INNOVATIONS INITIATIVE PROGRAM SERVICES TO THE PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL, INC., DBA PASSAIC COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENY CENTER, AND TO INCREASE GRANT AWARD AND EXTEND THE TERM FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Resolution is to amend Resolution R-25-95, dated February 11, 2025, to allocate an additional One hundred sixty-six thousand six hundred eighty-four and 09/100 ($166,684.09) dollars to the Private Industry Council, Inc., dba Passaic County Workforce Development Center, to provide Adult Literacy Innovations Initiative Program Services and to extend the term for the period of December 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. G-01-41-813-024-PE1 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the November 12, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the Department of Human Services to amend the original award authorized by Resolution R-25-95, dated February 11, 2025, to extend the term and allocate an additional $166,684.09 to the Private Industry Council, Inc., dba Passaic County Workforce Development Center, to provide Adult Literacy Innovations Initiative Program Services and to extend the term for the period of December 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, thar the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Department are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
