RESOLUTION AMENDING PRIOR RESOLUTION R-25-1020, DATED OCTOBER 28, 2025, TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING AND EXTEND AWARD PERIOD FOR CODE BLUE ACTIVITIES TO THE CITY OF CLIFTON, CITY OF PASSAIC, AND CITY OF PATERSON FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Resolution is to amend Resolution R-25-1020, dated October 28, 2025, to allocate an additional Fifty thousand and 00/100 ($50,000.00) dollars each to the Cities of Clifton and Passaic and to award an additional Sixty-one thousand two hundred fifty and 00/100 ($61,250.00) dollars to the City of Paterson for Code Blue activities during the Code Blue season, and to extend the term to the period starting January 1, 2026 through March 31, 2026, for a total amount of One hundred sixty-one thousand two hundred fifty and 00/100 ($161,250.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. G-01-41-924-026-213 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the December 16, 2025 meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the Department of Human Services to amend the original award authorized by Resolution R-25-1020, dated October 28, 2025, to allocate an additional $50,000.00 each to the Cities of Clifton and Passaic, to allocate an additional $61,250.00 to the City of Paterson, and to extend the term to the period of January 1, 2026 through March 31, 2026 for Code Blue Activities during the Code Blue season; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, thar the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Department are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
