RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFAIRS TO ACCEPT THE GRANT FROM THE PASSAIC COUNTY CULTURAL HERITAGE COUNCIL FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY CEMETERY NETWORK PROJECT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs (hereinafter “Department”) is recommending that the County accept a grant from the Passaic County Cultural Heritage Council for the Passaic County Cemetery Network Project in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will support the Passaic County Cemetery Network project, which is dedicated to the documentation, preservation, and interpretation of historic cemeteries throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the December 10, 2025, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the acceptance of the grant from the Passaic County Cultural Heritage Council for the Passaic County Cemetery Network Project in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00); and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
