RESOLUTION APPOINTING STEVEN PARSONS TO THE FRIENDS OF PASSAIC COUNTY PARKS, INC. BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR A FIVE-YEAR TERM, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2009, the Board approved Resolution No. R08742, authorizing the creation of the Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc. (Friends of Passaic County Parks”), a non-profit corporation created for the purposes of raising funds, undertaking improvement projects, programming, and securing grants for the Passaic County Park System; and
WHEREAS, there is currently a vacancy on the Friends of Passaic County Parks Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator is recommending that Steven Parsons be appointed to the vacant seat on the Friends of Passaic County Parks Board of Trustees for a five (5) year term, beginning retroactively on January 1, 2026, and expiring on December 31, 2030; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 21, 2026, Administration & Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic appoints Steven Parsons to the vacant seat on the Friends of Passaic County Parks Board of Trustees for a five (5) year term, beginning retroactively on January 1, 2026 and expiring on December 31, 2030.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
