RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR HVAC AND ROOF REPLACEMENT AT 495 RIVER STREET IN THE CITY OF PATERSON, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County owned building at 495 River Street in the City of Paterson is in need of HVAC and roof replacement and the County Engineer is requesting that the Purchasing Agent advertise and receive bids for same, in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for HVAC and roof replacement at 495 River Street in the City of Paterson; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County will publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the matter was discussed at the January 14, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
WHEREAS, T & M Associates has prepared plans and specifications in accordance with Passaic County and applicable engineering standards, and such plans have received prior approval from the appropriate public authorities, thereby affording the County immunity from liability for design-related claims under N.J.S.A. 59:4-6; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for the HVAC and roof replacement for 495 River Street in the City of Paterson.
