RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE FROM MAJOR AUTOMOTIVE INSTALLATIONS DB/A SPECTRUM COMMUNICATIONS, FOR FEDERAL BRAND EQUIPMENT FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE K9 UNIT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council, which awarded a contract for Purchase of Communications Equipment, Contract Number MCCPC #41 to Major Automotive Installations d/b/a Spectrum Communications; and
WHEREAS, Major Automotive Installations d/b/a Spectrum Communications provided a quote to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, attached to and made part of this resolution, to purchase various Federal brand equipment for the K9 Unit, in the amount of nineteen thousand two hundred eleven dollars and twenty-eight cents ($19,211.28) which is being recommended for approval by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. T-13-56-860-000-801 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2026 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 20, 2026 meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing a purchase from Major Automotive Installations d/b/a Spectrum Communications for various Federal brand equipment for the K9 Unit, in the amount of nineteen thousand two hundred eleven dollars and twenty-eight cents ($19,211.28), as recommended by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board of County Commissioners, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
