RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 2026 COUNTY SALARY REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC AND RUTGERS, THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW JERSEY, COOPERATIVE EXTENSION, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Rutgers Cooperative Extension is headquartered at the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and provides services to County residents in the areas of agriculture and resource management, family and community health sciences, 4-H youth development and other related programming; and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator is recommending to enter into the 2026 County Salary Reimbursement Agreement, attached hereto and made part of this Resolution, wherein the County agrees to pay the amount indicated in the Agreement for employees listed therein; and
WHEREAS, the estimated amount the County will pay in calendar year 2026 is two hundred two thousand six hundred eighty dollars ($202,680.00); and
WHEREAS, the Rutgers Cooperative Extension will bill the County in quarterly installments for reimbursement of approximately one-fourth of the agreed amount of the actual annual salary and wage costs with payments due on April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the August 26, 2026, Administration and Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the attached 2026 Salary Reimbursement Agreement by and between the County of Passaic and Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Cooperative Extension.
LET IT BE FUTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
