RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE SECOND ALLOCATION OF PROJECT FUNDS OF CSBG-ND FOR FY2026 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, DIVISION OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq., and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) are vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department is requesting a resolution to accept the second allocation of project funds of CSBG-ND funding for FY2026 from the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Housing and Community Resources; and
WHEREAS, the first allocation accepted under Resolution R-25-824 on September 9, 2025 was for the amount of one hundred nine thousand seven hundred fifty and 00/100 ($109,750.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the second allocation in the amount of one hundred thirty-three thousand four hundred fifty-two and 00/100 ($133,452.00) dollars brings the allocated total to two hundred forty-three thousand two hundred two and 00/100 ($243,202.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the full anticipated award is projected to be three hundred twelve thousand four hundred sixty and 00/100 ($312,460.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the CSBG-ND funds are available from January 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 13, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the acceptance of the second allocation of project funds of CSBG-ND funding for FY2026 from the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Housing and Community Resources in the amount of one hundred thirty-three thousand four hundred fifty-two and 00/00 ($133,452.00) dollars; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Director of Human Services, and Director of the Board are hereby authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
