RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT GRANT #NJ0763L2F112500 FOR THE CONTINUUM OF CARE PLANNING ACTIVITIES ISSUED BY THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter the “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Department is requesting a resolution to apply for and accept Grant #NJ0763L2F112500 for the Continuum of Care planning activities issued by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of two hundred ninety-six thousand two hundred eighty-six and 00/100 ($296,286.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, an in-kind match is required in the amount of seventy-four thousand seventy-one and 50/100 ($74,071.50) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the grant period is May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 13, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Department of Human Services to apply for and accept Grant #NJ0763L2F112500 for the Continuum of Care planning activities issued by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of two hundred ninety-six thousand two hundred eighty-six ($296,286.00) dollars with a grant period beginning on May 1, 2026 and ending April 30, 2027 for Fiscal Year 2025; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Department of Human Services are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
