RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GRANT AWARDS FROM THE PASSAIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO THE CITY OF CLIFTON, CITY OF PASSAIC, AND CITY OF PATERSON FOR CODE BLUE ACTIVITIES FOR THE CODE BLUE SEASON STARTING NOVEMBER 1, 2025, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2025, AS AUTHORIZED BY N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) are vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County through its Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Department is requesting a resolution authorizing a grant award from the Passaic County Department of Human Services to the City of Clifton in the amount of twenty-six thousand eight hundred seventy-five and 00/100 ($26,875.00) dollars, to the City of Passaic in the amount of twenty-six thousand eight hundred seventy-five and 00/100 ($26,875.00) dollars and to the City of Paterson in the amount of fifty-three thousand seven hundred fifty and 00/100 ($53,750.00) dollars in the total amount of one hundred seven thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($107,500.00) dollars from November 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. G-01-41-924-025-213 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the October 21, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) authorizes grant awards from the Passaic County Department of Human Services to the City of Clifton in the amount of $26,875.00, the City of Passaic in the amount of $26,875.00, and to the City of Paterson in the amount of $53,750.00 for the total amount of $107,500.00 for Code Blue activities for the Code Blue season starting November 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Administrator, County Counsel, Clerk to the Board, and the Director of Human Services for the County of Passaic are authorized to take all necessary action to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
