RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN APPROPRIATION AWARDED TO TANIS HARDWARE CORPORATION FOR ANTICIPATED COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH CATALOG % DISCOUNTS PRICING FOR THE HARDWARE SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS COUNTY OF PASSAIC DEPARTMENTS AND INSTITUTIONS, AS PER BID SB-22-012, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., for every contract awarded by the County for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3, shall be awarded by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertising for bids and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, on February 8, 2022, the Board passed Resolution No. R-22-0089 authorizing an award of contract to Tanis Hardware Corporation for a contract term beginning April 1, 2022, and expiring March 31, 2024, in the amount of sixty thousand dollars ($60,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds is recommending an increase appropriation to Tanis Hardware Corporation in the amount of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for anticipated costs associated with catalog % discounts pricing for the hardware supplies and equipment for various county of Passaic Departments and Institutions, with a new total award amount of one hundred ten thousand dollars ($110,000.00); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 7, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an increase in the appropriation under the contract to Tanis Hardware Corporation of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for anticipated costs associated with catalog % discounts pricing for the hardware supplies and equipment for various county of Passaic Departments and Institutions, for a new total award amount of one hundred ten thousand dollars ($110,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
